The Sí, Se Puede Academic Success Institute at UC Davis supports Latinx students on academic notice, facing academic dismissal, or any other type of academic challenge through a one-day program focused on workshops, community building, and academic support. This culturally empowering experience helps students access resources, build connections with career staff, and engage with peers facing similar challenges. The program includes workshops on academic advising, financial aid, writing, and career development, along with personalized support to create an academic plan. This provides a pathway for students to return to good academic standing and understand academic policies that impact their academic experience. A highlight of the institute is a student panel featuring peers who have successfully navigated academic challenges, offering participants inspiration and practical advice. By embracing cultural identity and normalizing discussions about academic struggles, the institute fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment. The program aims to help students reclaim their scholarly identity, redefine academic success, and thrive at UC Davis.
